Natalie has been a chartered physiotherapist since 2007. She lives in Surrey and visits people at home across Woking, Guildford and east Berkshire — usually after a hospital stay or an operation, or when someone is starting to struggle at home and the family wants to act before there is a fall.

For most of the last decade she worked as a senior community physiotherapist in the NHS in west London. First it was the rapid response team, seeing people at home at short notice to keep them out of hospital. Then it was short-term rehabilitation, helping people get their independence back after a hospital stay. She led the team’s triage service through the pandemic, supervised and trained junior colleagues, and stepped in to run a team of thirty when her manager was away.

Before that she was lead physiotherapist at a hospice, working with people living with multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and cancer. She wrote and ran a six-week group that taught people practical ways to manage breathlessness and fatigue, and she trained the nursing staff in safe moving and handling.

She is a qualified postural stability instructor, which is the strength and balance programme used to prevent falls in older people. With a sports science degree and five years with the Wasps rugby academy behind her, exercise is at the heart of how she works — but always at a pace the person can manage.

“I am passionate about rehabilitation through encouraging and motivating my patients to do exercises to strengthen and improve their daily life. I work with patients to meet their rehabilitation goals. I am always looking to make sessions engaging and motivating.”
