My mother will not go out if it looks like rain, and now she barely goes out at all. Is that a physiotherapy problem?
It can be, yes, and it is worth looking at rather than putting down to the weather. Avoiding wet ground is sensible — until it becomes the reason for not going out at all, at which point the walking that kept her steady disappears and the legs follow within months. Usually what is underneath is a worry about slipping and a quiet loss of confidence rather than the rain. He is a big man and I cannot lift him. Does that rule us out?
