Berkshire is home to some of England’s most varied communities — from the bustling streets of Reading and the affluent villages of the Thames Valley, to the rural expanses of West Berkshire and the historic royal town of Windsor. Wherever you are across the county, The Caring Physio brings qualified, expert physiotherapy directly to your door. There’s no need to arrange transport, sit in a waiting room, or manage a difficult journey when you’re at your most vulnerable — we come to you, in your home, your care home, or your place of residence, and we treat you like family.

🚀 Rapid Response Discharge Support — Available Across Berkshire

Told on a Friday that a loved one is being discharged on Saturday? Don’t let rehabilitation wait. The Caring Physio can often be at your door within 48 hours of discharge — whether from the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, Heatherwood in Ascot, or West Berkshire Community Hospital in Newbury. Call us the moment you have a discharge date and we’ll have a plan in place before they arrive home.

Areas We Cover in Berkshire

Berkshire stretches from the Thames Valley commuter belt in the east — taking in Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell — to the wide, rural reaches of West Berkshire around Newbury, Hungerford and the North Wessex Downs. NHS waiting times for outpatient physiotherapy in Berkshire, as across England, regularly extend to many months — a gap that The Caring Physio is specifically positioned to fill. Our home visit model means that patients recovering from hip surgery in Newbury, managing Parkinson’s Disease in Pangbourne, or rebuilding strength after a fall in Cookham, all receive the same standard of expert care without the burden of travel.

Berkshire also has a notable concentration of older residents — particularly in the care-home-rich corridor around Maidenhead, Windsor and Ascot — and a high proportion of privately insured households across Wokingham, Caversham and the Thames Valley villages. The county is served by three NHS trusts (Royal Berkshire NHS FT, Frimley Health NHS FT and Berkshire Healthcare NHS FT), four major private hospitals (Circle Reading, Berkshire Independent, Spire Dunedin and Spire Thames Valley), and a network of community hospitals including West Berkshire Community Hospital in Newbury, St Mark’s in Maidenhead and King Edward VII in Windsor. The Caring Physio works across all of these settings and can provide continuity of care for patients discharged from any of them.

We provide home physiotherapy visits across all of Berkshire, including:

Don’t see your area listed? We cover all of Berkshire — just get in touch and we’ll confirm availability near you. Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing a long-term condition, or simply want to move better and stay independent for longer — The Caring Physio is ready to come to you, anywhere in Berkshire. No referral needed. No waiting rooms. Just expert, compassionate physiotherapy in the comfort of your own home.

🏡 The Trusted Carer

We believe The Trusted Carer is the only live-in care service in the UK to combine occupational therapy and physiotherapy in one integrated rehabilitation team — a partnership between The Caring Physio and Sunday Care Therapy, an OT-led, CQC-registered care provider. It brings physiotherapy and OT together with highly trained live-in carers to deliver intensive, therapy-led recovery at home across Berkshire. It’s built for getting people safely home — for example after a fractured hip or a long admission to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, when waiting for a residential placement isn’t the answer — and supports those living with dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke and neurological conditions, as well as people needing end-of-life care. Carers carry out daily exercise programmes set by our physiotherapists, with weekly physiotherapy and OT included as standard, rebuilding the strength and confidence to stand, transfer and walk again — with the goal of reducing the need for live-in care within eight weeks.
